What are you going to do?

In this role, you will:

  • Make sure payroll is processed correctly and on time each month.
  • Check how well payroll vendors are performing by reviewing their work monthly and ensuring they meet legal requirements every quarter.
  • Quickly report any issues to the HR Admin/Generalist or associate manager.
  • Handle legal payroll processes every quarter, mid-year, and year-end.
  • Look for ways to improve performance and provide good customer service by answering questions from employees, HR, and other external parties like tax authorities and payroll vendors.
  • Create and update payroll policies and procedures.
  • Help manage changes with payroll vendors and handle transitions.
  • Address any issues employees have related to payroll, compliance, or benefits.
  • Keep HR Managers, Business Partners, and Finance Controllers informed about progress and key goals.

  • Salary Range: Approximately €3,500 - €4,500 gross per month, based on work experience and knowledge.
  • Position Type: Full-time or part-time, mostly remote.
  • In-Person Requirement: You’ll need to be in Medemblik with the HR team, for example, once a week or about 3 times a month. This schedule is flexible.

This is you!

  • Experience: 2-5 years of handling payroll in a busy environment, with good knowledge of Dutch payroll systems and laws.
  • Language Skills: Good at reading, writing, and speaking Dutch and fluent in English.
  • Skills: Experience with international payroll taxes and benefits, analyzing processes, improving systems, managing changes, handling payroll transfers, and setting priorities.
  • Communication: Strong at writing and speaking, eager to learn and help others.
  • Work Style: Focused on results, proactive, and good at meeting deadlines.

Extra Experience That’s a Plus:

  • Familiar with Workday, SD Worx (Cobra), and payroll system integration.
  • Experience working in a global, complex work environment.
